Question Need X5 setup software

Hi all, just joined, I am looking at getting an X5 on ebay, but it uncludes no software disks. I have searched Dell, and poked around here, and could not find what I am looking for. How/where do I get the sync software and what not?

Many thanks!

Is this all I will need, ie: does it detect the Axim and whatnot, like the old Palm install software did? (on a Palm of course...)

You need 3 things that are supplied on the CD. R55367.exe is the USB driver for X5 from Dell downloads and ActiveSync 3.8 is available from M$.

The third thing you need is Outlook (not Outlook Express). It is not available by download but you may already have it (it's part of M$ Office). Otherwise, you'll need to buy it.

It will detect the Axim. You want to be sure NOT to connect your cradle to your PC until the ActiveSync software tells you to. I'm pretty sure it's in the instructions, but if you connect the hardware and then install the software something might get fubar'd.

You can add WI-FI for about $30.00 with the Symbol Wi-Fi card off of eBay. Just search for it. The beauty of the X5 is that you can use the CF slot to swap accessories (including Wi-Fi or hard wire ethernet) while keeping programs and storage on the SD card.
