I like installing all my programs on the SDCard. However, installing software there will clutter the SDCard directory. I wan't to be able to specify a folder in the SDCard (for example: Program Files). Is this possible?

Not as far as I know, but when the program installs to the memory card, it usually creates a folder for that program. After that is done, you could probably cut and paste the folder into a folder of your creation. But I have never tried it, so I am not sure.

Turns out there is a way to this:

In the registry:
\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apps\Microsoft Application Installer\fAskDest=1

Now, after you install a program, you will be prompted on the PocketPC (not the Windows machine) to specify an installation folder.

Thanks very much Yogre!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you come across this? Were you just going through the registry or have you found some good source for reg hacks?

While we're on the subject ... if I put a group of folders in a folder in My Doc, p-word can't see them. Is there a limit to how deep the apps will look for stuff?
If I clik on the file, it opens correctly, but the files are not listed in the "All Folders" view.

A friend of mine found it in a Russian site. Don't have the link right now cause it's not much use to me since I can't read Russian.

Mike C: The default file selector looks one level deep below the My Documents folder. So it'll see files in, for example, \SD Card\My Documents\Text but not in \SD Card\My Documents\Text\FAQ.
