Transfering Files from old PDA to new x5 pda

I just purchased the x5 and would like to move my Outlook calendar/contacts from my current cassio E125 to my new x5 without using Activesync. Is there a way to copy the data tables from one PDA to the other via IR or memory card?

Thanks,
Rick

Any reason why you want to do it without Activesync?

Good question.

Good question. Currently, I'm having issues with getting an accurate update of Outlook PST files from my work PC which does not have active sync by exporting them onto my home pc with active sync. My first choice would be to install Active Sync on my work PC and go through the normal sync/install process, but I'm unable to get the IT department at work, at least for now, to install it for me with their Administrator rights. While resolving that, I would like to start using what information I currently have on my old PDA on my new unit. So I'm having to do the hard way. I thought the Outlook data files were in a table on the pda and that they could be copied, but up to now have not been able to locate them.

Well you might be able to export the info from your exchange server at work into a .pst file, take the pst file home, import it into outlook and then activesync it to your PDA...

A bit of a fuss i know but better than nothing

Also, because your old outlook calendar might contain plenty of historical appointments you may not want on your new X5, you can beam individual appointments 1 by 1. Laborious if you do want everything for sure. The 1 by 1 method also would work with your contacts.

With either, select the item you want beamed by holding the stylus on the item until the menu appears - there you will find the option to beam the item.

Be aware, and careful, if you do later establish an active sync connection, some of this work may be lost or duplicated. Resolving similar items via ActiveSync really stinks. You can't tell which is which.
