WAHHHHHHHH! I want my wifi notification to show the bars on top instead! BOO! XD!

LOL!

Is there a way to get it to show the signal strength bars on top instead of that other weird icon that you have to TAP to see the damn signal strength (in the popup bubble) ?

SAY YES! PLEASE! XD

Seems to depend on the driver. My truemobile showed on the bottom, my symbol shows on top. I guess it is the developer who decides.

Did the Symbol one have a signal strength bar thingy on top? I have symbol too, but have WM 2003...so I dunno if that affects it or not.

Mine does, it's has the bar at the top and one on the bottom right corner which you also tap for the function menu. When I tap the top bar a balloon pops up and tells whether it's roaming, associating or associated.
I'm using the latest driver off Symbols site. The drivers on the CD were different and didn't have as many features or that top signal bar.

So do you have WM2003? Because I installed the latest as of Nov 04, from their website but didn't have any configuration options :(

Can anyone confirm that the symbol drivers have the icon and that it works under WM 2003?

I don't know which version it is, but I got mine off the website and it works fine under 2003. There is a little blue icon at the bottom of the screen that allows you to get to the settings menu.

whoa...>_>...mine doesn't have it. I know I installed symbol drivers onto the PPC because it's listed in the remove programs list...maybe there's a utility program from symbol that I never installed. Sweet.

Mine shows up as Symbol CENET_Spectrum24 in the add remove programs listing. I got it right from their website. Nothing special, just a google search.

I have that too, but there is no wifi icon on the bottom. Only the one that takes the place of teh activesync icon, but it's white..>_>..and doesn't have signal bars showing without clicking on it first :(

Using the latest Signal drivers from the Website on an X5 I upgraded to WM 2003, I get green signal bars at the top of the display and an icon in the lower right corner that I have to tap to see all kinds of other info.

That is exactly what I have. Just to help anyone reading this though, the drivers are from SYMBOL not SIGNAL.
