Need Help on Synching with Windows 2000

I synch my Axim w/ two machines (Windows 2000 and XP Home). When I synch w/ the Windows 2000 machine after bootup, everything is fine. When I disconnect the Axim from the Windows 2000 machine and then try to attach and synch again, I get an error message stating that the Axim will not connect. I don't get the same error with XP Home in the same situation. I've tried ActiveSycn 3.6, reinstalled 3.5 and even did a hard reset. Nothing works. Any suggestions???
