Exactly! Nothing at all. It's like putting a 250MB zip disc into a 100MB Zip Drive. The 100MB is only meant to read 100MB zip discs, even though the 100 and 250 discs look EXACTLY the same. :P Understand?

I dunno if your joking but I find it odd.. the X5 which got Dell into the world of Pda's That Case that the Axim site wants to make, does not seem they want to support the X5.

WHich is why I don't know if I want to get another Dell.

you are S*** unless you have the newest model.

Well, your X5 may not speak to you for a few days for pointing out it's only inferiority.

And if it ever asks you if the extended battery makes its butt look big.......just pretend you didn't hear it.

What's "odd" about it?

If I took a Model T into a Ford Dealership today, do you think I'd find an OEM replacement seat cover?

It does not matter which manufacturer product you buy. The principle remains the same for all...After "x" number of years the company will stop supporting its older products.

What is really odd about this??? Do you expect MS to provide support for DOS, Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 just because these products helped MS launch into the big league?

Do you expect Palm to provide support to all of its old III and V series?

Every consumer product has a life span, after which the company has to stop supporting the product if it has to make better products in the future.

This has got nothing to do with the fact that I have a X50v. When I had Palm IIIxe, I never complained about Palm not providing support to IIIxe while they were providing upgrades to Tungsten series. When I had Windows 95, I never complained that MS does not provide support to Win95 while WinXP are getting regular patches and service packs.

You would be worng.

Last count I believe I own 5 or 6 X5s, in various states of repair.
At least 4 of them are operable.

You do, of course, realize what the corollary to that is.

The X5 is about 3 years old. It's a great unit, but old and dying because bigger and better stuff is out and at fairly reasonable prices. Accessory manufacturers are going where the money is, to the newer units with more users.

That is such petty thinking.
