activesync disconnects when using betaplayer(TCPMP)

i have recently had a problem with activesync disconnecting when i use TCPMP to listen to my mp3s. when i am at work, i want to use my x5 to listen to music while it is connected to my PC. when i just leave my axim alone, the light in system tray is green and it syncs just fine all day at work. however, when i listen to mp3s, after a few minutes the light will turn from green to gray, and activesync gets disconnected. the only way i can reconnect is to power off my axim, and turn it back on.

anyone know waht's causing this?

Possibly beta player using up too much CPU to allow activesync to work properly?

that's what i thought too...but xpuscalar is showing my CPU usage at ~20-24% when i'm playing mp3s. that's not abnormally high is it?

No it's not.

Try another MP3 player. Pocket Music or GS player maybe.

Betaplayer is my choice for movies, but not MP3's. For MP3's I like Pocket Music because it has large buttons for my car, and Winamp interface for normal operation. GS player is great too, and I think there is another. If it wasn't for the big buttons of PM, I would probably use GS.

how do you interface your axim with your car? do you have a line-in, or an fm transmitter?

Cassette adapter. Didn't have the greatest luck with an FM transmitter. I'm looking into replacing my speakers (3 are bad), and I will see if it's possible to rig a line in at that point, and if not I'll replace the cassette deck/radio too with one that has line in.

I never had much luck with FM transmitters either. I installed an XM stereo in my car which required taking the dashboard apart so I could hardwire an RF converter to the wiring within the console. I have a headphone plug thing protruding out from the top of my dash through the windshield defrost vent where the housing for my XM stereo is but I removed it from back of the XM housing and put it into the headphone jack of my Axim and set the stereo to the designated station and BAM, instant MP3's on the go. It works out rather well. I hope this makes sense, lol. I think that's what you were referring to when you mentioned "line-in" maybe?
