Download / exe. / Install ?

Most, but not all of the programs (freeware/shareware) are zipped after download, and after unzipping become an exe file, or an setup.exe file. I have a mac sync to Axim set-up that works great, but I need to know if there is a better way than opening up the exe. file w/ Windows emulation software (virtual PC) and executing the exe. file, and then placing the actual program in the shared folder for syncing. It will not work to just put the exe, or setup.exe file in the shared sync folder.

What you need to look for a is a .CAB file generated by the setup program. Transfer that to your Axim. Use a file manager to execute it from there, and it'll install the app.

Thanks for the reply, but other than using the windows emulation program, how can I get the setup.exe to run on the mac and provide me with a .cab file to tranfer to the Axim.

The EXE file is supposed to run on the PC and work w/ ActiveSync to load the files in their proper places on the PPC. You shouldn't have to move anything manually afterward. If unzipping gives you a .CAB file on the PC, copy it to the sync folder and when it's on the Axim, click on it from there.
