Lost Setup Disk - Where can I get software online?
Hi All,

I've just recently moved into new digs (a Dell Latitude D800 with an incredible WUXGA screen ). But, I've apparently misplaced my original Axim setup disk. Can anyone tell me where I can get the setup software again?

Thanks.

Well the two things you need to get your Axim working are ActiveSync and the USB Driver...

You can download ActiveSynce 3.6 here:

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pock...tivesync36.asp

The USB Axim Driver can be downloaded here:

ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/handheld/R59395.EXE

When you plug your Axim into the cradle your computer will ask you for the drivers. Just point the wizard to the folder you extracted the USB Driver to (c:\dell\drivers\R59395\).

As for the other software (Outlook 2000, etc), you'll have to call Dell and ask them to send you another CD.

Thanks cageyjames.

I was hoping that was all there was to it. However, the New Device wizard is looking for an .INF file. When I extract the USB driver, I get serial.cab, serial.ini, and setup.exe. Running setup.exe doesn't have the desired effect either.

.INF files anyone?

When you run the R59395.EXE it should expand some files into the c:\dell\drivers\R59395\ folder. Just point the wizard to the .INF file in that directory and you should be good.
