This kins of pissed me off, I had my 3400 battery on my PPC adn I use it at night and recharge my small one all night, I leave my axim on my head board adn in teh morning I switch batteries fo rwork or just for the day, today I switched teh battery, plugged in teh axim and it said to prevent data loss I needed to start charging the battery because teh backup battery was down to 0%.

Do any of you happen to know what could have caused this? I mean even with no battery in teh slot, it seems liek with it beign off teh backup battery shouldnt have gone from 100% to 0% overnight, and I know the 3400 battery was plugged in right becaus I was usign it.

This actually causes me a bit of concern about the stability of my data and the axim, maybe the 3400 battery is jacked, but its bradn new and had been charged for a really long time.... strage.

UPDATE, I took teh backup battery out and put it on my tongue, it had charge, I put it back in and now its displayign a 80% charge, this is not a good thing, who knows, it wasnt sitting in a funny position or anything, oh well.

later fellas.

The backup battery does not recharge. It's just a stupid button cell. It certainly sounds like it wasn't making a good connection. I would check all the contacts and battery surface for dirt or film, and make sure the door is latched. If this continues, I would get a new Dell, Dude. ;)

The backup battery could be bad... Dell didn't make the backup battery... ever think to replace it?

Interesting that my backup battery discharged to 90% in the three days I've had the unit... why would it discharge at all if the main batt has never been removed... hmmm

So are we getting an accurate reading for our backup battery? What is it, dead or alive?

My fear is when I go to change to my 2nd main battery that I will lose everything?
