Anyone successful with using his /her X5 as a plug and play device ?
Has any of you guys succeeded in making your X5 a plug n play device- meaning you transfer files from your axim to your computer without active sync ?( In other words the axim X5 acts as removable disk -just like a USB flash drive or a digital camera)
I have tried with the card export sofware but I get this message on my desktop computers "USB device not recognized"
Can it actually work?
By the way am thinking of printing professional high quality digital photos up to 5x7 , 6x8 what printer would you recomend?
whats the cost of a copal printer like? Any ideas - please respond.
You should have to install Activesync so your PC will see your X5. Other than that you should be able to open up Windows Explorer and see your mobile device and then be able to move files back and forth like a "removable USB device". Personally, as already mentioned, I would recommend a card reader as well.
i got no problem by doing that . meaning i can drap and drop the mp3 or file into my cf or sd card without problem. under the my computer, i can see my mobile device once you are linked your x5 by using the come with it usb cable. from here you go the file transfer by your wish.
Oops guys, I mean using your x5 as flash drive/card reader on any PC without installing active sync or any other hardware. The card export software allows this versatlity with all the other axims except the X5. So I was wondering if there is any other software I could use.
Nope, as far as I know you must install Activesync on your PC so it will, at the very least, recognize your device. At that point you don't have to use Activesync, you can use Windows Explorer and Explore your device, transfer data to and from your device either to your expansion cards or your device BIS.
