A better idea is to get your friend to log on here and give us a good description of what happened. Then we'll sort him out :)

Did he make sure that the sound is even turned on? Look in the upper right portion of the screen where there is a little speaker. If there is an x to the right of the speaker then that could be the problem. Hope this helps.

I already walk him throug to make sure the sound is turn on and volum is all the way up, and have him to verify the sound from program-->game chose one of the game that make sound. None of them work then I asked him to perform soft reset until DELL screen show up. then try the whole process again. No Luck, instead of me drving from Dallas to Houston to help him out or ship the PDA back to me so I can figure out, so I think people in here at least know PDA and how it works can quick identify the issue.

Have you tried a hard reset? Because I know that you would hear a jingle after being turned on for the first time after a hard reset. If you don't hear it then your speaker is probably blown.

Ok well if all else fails you might want to give a hard reset a shot. You're very welcome.

That would be a soft-reset. A "hard-reset"' would dump all the programming.
