Give this a try...not sure if you can change the base priority though or just view it.....I'll have to try it and see.

Looking at the specs for EMProcess I don't think it allows you to change process priorty either.....it would be cool to start a background app with low priorty like you can in NT/2000/XP. :(

doesn't look hard there is a SetThreadPriority method in PPC 2002 that allows you to do it when your coding an app, wonder if pocketMVP uses it? I am no expert, anyone?

I think I found a way to launch a new app at Low priority...you'll have to download and install PocketConsole which is free and CMD which is the command shell. I used this syntax \>start calc.exe /low....I will send you a screen shot.

Doh....it seems to ignore the /low /high switch. Sorry for the false report. There must be a way to execute an app at a different priority, or at least change it.....Gotta go for now..it's 1:10 am where I live :rolling: I'll keep working on this tomorow.

looks like we have had it this is from a ms document on MSDN called MS Win CE 3.0 Kernel Services: Multiprocessing and Thread Handling...
Priority Levels
Thread priorities are fixed and do not change, CE does not boost foreground thread priorities
oh well maybe in 2003?
