Memory Slider
Anyway to peg the slider permanently?
I do all my installs on the SD card. I also use Memmaid to redirect all my programs temp storage to the SD card. I need Program memory and I'm tired of moving the slider. I would appreciate anyone with a hack/program that could give me the max. program memory available all the time. Yep, I have the X5 with only 32mb...but...I got to say...for the money it is the BEST FRIGGING HANDHELD THERE IS! this little bugger is compatible with everything, it's light and convenient, go anywhere, nifty looking....etc etc So, I'm positive somebody out there can help me Thanks in advance! There's no need to adjust memory, the PDA will take what it needs to run programs, if you need more for storage, it will take it, if you need more for running programs, it will take it from storage. Just let the X5 manage memory and you'll be fine.

But why then?
Why does pocketstreamer (GREAT program) only work after I adjust it myself then? If I just run pocketstreamer without fooling with the memory the axim twigs out and freezes. If I move the slider it works okay.... Another question: If it works by itself(not an attack on you sir) Why the heck do they put the slider in there? | |||

Have you tried a soft reset before trying to run it? Most programs will just disappear into the background when you hit the "X" and not release memory. And as for the slider, don't know why it's there, after 2 X5s and a X50v, all I can say is that adjusting the memory manually has had no impact on performance, and even if I move the slider to a 50/50 split, it moves as I open and close programs.
