Backup battery

I've read many posts trying to figure this out but haven't found answer. I have started receiving the bubble popups my backup battery is extremly low, then changed to critically low. I check Power and it shows backup at 100%. From other posts I've seen backup needs replacement battery for varying times but don't know if I'm personally getting false/possible readings.I am Axim 5 newbie and will need to find tutorial on how to change backup if needed. I'm going on shopping trip for Axim accessaries and don't want to miss anything. If I solve above problem, I will still have to buy backups. Does anyone recommend any brand backup batteries. Also I have a D-link Air wireless Compact flash, came in case when I got Axim, but it isn't memory I don't think, although it fits in my CF slot. What is it? I am going to repost on other needs shortly and try to find what I need to get on net at hotspots and a hotspot detector program. Sorry to run on. Bob

Hi Bob, the backup battery is just a regular watch-type battery you can get from the drugstore, etc. Just take the old one out and bring it to the store with you to get a replacement. I'd go for the more reputable ones (e.g., Duracell) as I remember awhile back someone had posted about differences between the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones. Don't forget to keep your main battery charged while you take out the backup battery. If it drains, your device will do a hard reset and be restored back to factory state.

As for your D-link card, that sounds like it's your wifi card. You will need to install the drivers for that before you are able to use the card. If you did not get an install CD with it, go to the Dlink website and look for thd drivers. This card will allow you to get on the net at hotpots and in your own wireless network, if you have one.
