Dark and light areas on bottom of screen - "spotlighting" - do you have this?

Please take a good look at your Axim screen, preferably when it's all white, such as when you're reading an e-book or perhaps on the Thunderhawl opening screen.

Do any of you see alternating dark and light areas? I see about 5 dark areas between light areas. THis is in the bottom 1/4 inch of the screen. On the Dell board, I've gotten a mix of comments - some saying this is normal and some saying it isn't. The board moderator, from Dell, says it's probably normal.

I'd like to get more feedback from others on this.

Please respond with - Yes, I've got this banding or spotlights

or

No, my screen is white all the way around.

Thanks!

Everybody has the spots, although the only people who notice them are usually people who spend a lot of time looking at that all-white screen. The are related to a reflector that helps difuse the light behind your display. This was discussed back in January or so on this site.

It is mostly noticable if you tilt the top of the screen towards you, which most people do not do very often.

Starting to feel like the screen is more on the normal side...

Can you save me some time and direct me to the January posts? Are there archives of old threads and posts?

I think it's normal, however undesirable.

You can use the search option at the top of the screen.
