I don't think you can upgrade from SD card. I tried and the X5 just booted into the ROM-based diagnostic. Then I tried a CF card and it worked perfectly. The only challenge was the funky keypress combination.

I'm 99% certain that you can only do this with a CF card.

They are pretty cheap though.

i did a self update to ppc 2003 too.
did what the guy on ebay told me to do. used the cf way to upgrade. no problems thereafter.

I did the upgrade from ppc2002 to ppc2003 the other night and, after a cranial malfunction on my part regarding new drivers for my symbol wifi cf, all is well and works great! (so far LOL) Wish me and my X5 Advanced w/ppc2003 well...faster opening webpages etc...are a pleasure. I'm glad I upgraded!
