Hmm dead axim

Hello all you aximites! Just wanted to ask if anyone has had the problem I have had. Since receiving my Axim X5 in February have had nothing but good things to say about it, until recently about two days ago. When I'm not using it I keep it in its case, well it had been about three or four days since I last used it, and the battery was charged not fully though. But when I went to use it two days ago it would not turn on, I even plugged it into the outlet but nothing, dead in the water. Called Dell explained the problem they had me soft reset, nothing hard reset, nothing, use the power cord nothing take out the battery and put back in nothing. They decided to send me another, I was a little taken aback because I did not want to be without it, but I received it the next day, that sure was fast I geuss they did not want me to be without it as well. So I did a little test to see if it was the battery. I put the old battery in the new system and it booted up just fine so I geuss the problem is within the guts of the system. Has anyone else had such a problem? I am very curious and would like to know what was wrong with that one but I geuss I will never know. Forgot to add purchased a new backup cell battery, but still did not work.

My Original AXIM worked for nearly 4 months without any problems than it started having similar power problems that you described. I could turn mine on but it would just randomly turn itself completely off. I used a voltage meter on the battery and it always checked out fine. There were times when it would not go on at all. Dell replaced it for me... but the first replacement had an unresponsive screen. The second replacement has dead pixels after 2 weeks.... I'm up to number 4 right now :\

Same thing happened to me this weekend. I called Dell Tech Support and was told to plug the A/C Adapter in and then attempt to turn on the Axim. If that didn't work then remove the batteries (both of them) and try plugging the Axim in to the A/C Adapter. Fortunately, it came back to the life without removing both batteries. But the tech did mention to me that there was a hardware flaw that caused this. After we hung up and I got thinking about it I've tried 3 times since to get back in touch with a tech that knows of the issue my tech described. No luck yet, but the original tech has a note to call me back. If this is a hardware issue that Dell knows about then it's covered under warranty. I'll post what I found out here.
