When I play games it seems to happen more when I use up and down. When I play games that only require left and right movement this never happens. I do not think its hardware because if I hit one of the buttons it usually stops? Any one else seen this?

This happens with only one of my games, but it happens so much it makes the game impossible to play. It acts as if the contol pad is stuck to the right on mine.

Test your d-pad in Pocket Excel. Try tapping 4 times in each direction and ensure that the cursor does not move diagonally.

If it does, you have a bad d-pad and should ask for a replacement.

Well I updated my rom and the problem seems to be gone. :D I just hope it last.


I did try the excel thing and I didnt have any problems.

The Rom update from dell (version A03) fixed my d-pad problem too.

Does anyone know why Dell aren't shipping new Axims with the ROM update? Mine has just arrived with A00 installed.

I also seem to have a problem with using the D-Pad (won't scroll down or right correctly - jumps to a diagonal cell when testing in Excel). Looking at this and previous threads it seems to be a known issue......I am amazed that Dell hasn't managed to fix the problem yet ! Will A03 really fix this problem ? I am loathe to spend hours downloading the 20mb+ file if it isn't going to fix things.

The problem seems to be more related to the button itself (an over-active recoil spring when depressing the button perhaps?) rather than a software or OS problem.

Any help would be appreciated ! :rolling:
