getting past stylus alignment on cracked screen

Okay here's the challenge:

I've got an Axim, but I've been peeking around for another pda so I can throw it around in the car using GPS and wardriving.

I don't want to ruin my axim, it's running smoothly at the moment and don't want to put it up to abuse like that.

I've found an ipaq for very cheap, but the guy selling it claims the screen is cracked, and he can't align it for the stylus. I can manage with a cracked screen, it's gonna be abused anyway. He says it's impossible to get past the alignment screen.

Here's the ham: Is it possible to get past the alignment when you 'boot' the pda? If so, I can get this one and abuse it. If not, it's a waste of (albeit a little) money.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Having been in that position with my axim, i really doubt it, however it can be fixed for $150 or if you are brave enough you could fix it yourself for about $60

That would kinda defeat the purpose as this one costs 40 euro. That's probably why it's so cheap .

Ta for the reply. The search continues!

aonaran, where do you buy the part(s) to fix it yourself (i.e. the replacement screen)?
