I'll give that a try, thanks for the advice. :)

Funny that alarms would be talked about--I just set my first last nite just to test.

The only problem that I had was a little difficulty getting the clock timer to read '7:30'--instead I made it '7:33'. Turned the axim off and at '7:33' the alarm went off.

I used the #1 alarm preset and it's pretty weird waking up to that sound.

I will continue testing.

A good start for better alarms is
http://www.pocketconcepts.com/AlarmSounds.html
There you will find the standard pocketPC 2000 and 2002 alarms repeating for 5 or 10 seconds, these are just wav files.

A better solution, and the one I use is SuperAlert from http://www.pocketfillers.com/

This allows you to customize your alarms even more than Palm OS does.

It costs $10 though, but IMHO it's well worth it.

SuperAlert is what I use (money _probably_ well spent). I set up the alarms to be silent and then configure an audible alarm, repeat etc. in SuperAlert and this way I ensure that the machine is switched on a few seconds before (to give it time to "warm up :) ) and I don't run the risk of my battery going flat if I'm not around to ack the alarm.

Having said that I had SuperAlert running the other day when I was late for work so it _might_ be the case that the clock app hadn't registered the alarm before I switched off. If the clock didn't register then SA won't have hooked in to the new time and nothing would have happened. Let's see how it goes.

BTW, SuperAlert ties in to other strange alarms. There's one that runs at midnight and SA says that it's not a real alarm and will be silent. The trouble is that the Axim lights up at midnight and when your eyes are used to the dark it's damn bright! :) I unchecked the setting to light up the Axim when an alarm goes off and that solved the problem.
