pressure problem

I have the MA701 and I also have a a linksys wireless router. The farther I get from the router, the less signal I get. Also, I may loose my connection at any given time and then it comes back at any given time. The other day while taking my card out of the ax, I inadvertantly put some pressure from the back of the card. I noticed that the signal immediately came back to 100% on both bars. I left the card in and released it and waited for it to loose its signal and sure enough, it did. I applied some gental pressure again and the signal came back. It seems that as long as I am holding pressure on the card, it will stay at 100%. I can put pressure on it from front or back, it does not make any difference. Is this a problem with the ax, the card, or both? Has anyone had the same trouble? What should I do? I have had both for less than 2 months. I am very please with both, except for the loss of the signal.

Thanks in advance.

You should not have to apply pressure to any CF card based device to make it work properly.

Sounds like a problem with the card.

Its not an uncommon sympton. It has happened to me with numerous gadgets and devices, not only with cards......

Most notable example are chargers, especially for mobile phones or PDAs. Same thing goes for hands-free (chargers and their own connection with the mobile phone). All the above require either some *special* pressure, or you have to plug it in in a specific angle, otherwise they dont make proper contact......

Seems like manufacturers are starting to get sloppy.......no other way to explain it
