Lexar Compact Flash help

Figured this would be the place to go since everyone looks for CF and SD related material here.

Anyhow, I have a Lexar USB CF card that I've been trying to format. However, I get a "invalid media or track 0 bad" error.

Anyone know of free utilities to fix this or just to fix CF cards in general.

'Preciate it!

Ray

That doesn't sound good . That's one I haven't seen before. Have you tried posting this question in the Accessories forum? Might have more luck there.

rayzazoo,

I had a similar problem with my Lexar 128mb, couldn't read it or format it. I emailed Lexar and they emailed me back a form to fill out and a RMA number to return it and there sending a new one The higher speed cards have a lifetime warranty. Check the speed of your card and goto there website to see about the warranty.
Definitly worth checking out. And they said they could save the picture that were on it!

Nice to know that my Lexar 128 SD card really has bit the dust -- at least I think it is at this moment. Will move to get a replacement but this Lexar card was a replacement for a SanDisk card that also crapped out after only twenty-four hours of use.

This card has worked some during the last two weeks but today it died. I was attempting to do a Backup with the file to be safely stored on my SD card.

Checked the card with Storage Tools and attempted to format it but it all failed.

I beginning to think I have been snake bit when it comes to storage of a large size.
