Question Possible to use USB mem stick for Axim?

Hey guys, great page.

I have two 512 usb mem sticks for work that I would love to use with my Axim. Anyone seen any utilities that will let me use one with the Axim?

Thx

The only think I can think of that is close to that is Sandisk (I think) makes a USB reader that takes SD cards. It's tiny and plugs right into a USB port and doesn't need drivers (for WinXP/2000).

Also there are a few companies that make CF readers that do the same thing.

The Axim cannot, by itself, act as a USB host or let you plug USB client devices directly into it.

Do a search for Memory sticks on the forums..
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...&threadid=8292

this company makes an adapter
http://virology-online.com/Products/MstickCF.htm

There are also some more links, in the thread above,
but do a search yoru self, you'll see some people
have problems with the trascend adapter..
also I think most of these only go up to 128 or 256
so you may even have more problems with 512

HI!
There is a chance to use that pen mem sticks in the Axim, the only matter is the price ( about 143 usd ) but I think thatīs is worth if you can manage 20 Gb whith it : a USB HOST ADAPTOR... yes itīs exist, i donīt know if it works properly and sure the first problem is the driver, but no worry with pen mem sticks or cardreaders ..cause itīs very possible that all of them use generic drivers for "mass storage"...if you want to try:

For almost the price of that USB Host CF card you could have 1 gig of CF memory.

sure, but you can not use a usb keyboard, or a usb GPS, os a usb card reader to manage your different memory cards, or ....
Itīd be a fine gadget if worked properly with lots of drivers.

Have you ever used a Hard Drive over USB. Its not fast at all. On my laptop, the USB Hard Drive I have causes even MP3s to skip and the laptop is a PIV.... I can't imagine this working with the Axim at all...
