blinking power button
Hi,
prob: my power button is blinking green . i know it does this when there is a message or an alert, but there is nothing like that waiting to be confirmed. i can "turn off" the blinking by doing a soft reset, but i'd like to know if there is someone with similar experience or even if someone knows the reason for the blinking not stopping.
thanks & so long,
gosch

Mine did the same thing when I was on rev. A02. It seems it was blinking because of an alert and kept going after the alert was cleared. Since I've upgraded to A03, it has not happened again.

You can recreate this problem by following the steps below:
1. Click Start --> Settings
2. Under Personal tab tap Sounds & Notifications
3. Tap Notifications tab
4. At Select an event, suppose you choose ActiveSync:Begin sync
5. At Select how to to be notified, check Play sound
6. Check Flash light for, then choose No limit from the several choices available
5. Tap OK
Now, whenever you put the Ax into the cradle and start sync. with your PC, there will be a sound and blinking power button. Even when you stop the ActiveSync, the power button stays blinking.
To rectify this, just uncheck Flash light for as step 6. above and do the soft reset. TQ.

Hi,
@stevenrp: I haven't installed any of the revs yet, so I'm still on A00 (I suppose). I've been wanting to do it for quite some time now, but when I've backuped the little thing, there's a new release and then I have to wait until it's issued in German, which normally takes long enough for me to have out dated my backup :-).
@maka: This sound interesting, next time I have the effect I'll give it a try. Anyhow I'd like to know why it happens in the first place.
thanks & so long,
Gosch

My question is .. that light is so hard to see .. how did you ever notice it was blinking? I suppose mine could have blinked for a month, and I wouldn't have noticed.

hi commoved,
that's an easy one. my cradle ist standing in a dark corner of the room, so i don't get the sun shining on it - and the freaky blue dell logo has its effect when recharging :) - that's how i noticed it!
