Can't store files on CF card, but 42 mb left

I have about 42 mb of space available on my CF card, but when I attempt to install something or even paste files, a message tells me that there is not enough space available.

Any ideas? :rolling:

I'd copy everything to my pc one folder at a time (using a card reader), and then format the card with the pc.

Then, return the card to the axim and create the folders necessary. Then return the card to the reader and copy the files back in.

Well, I copied everything to my PC and attempted to reformat, but storage tools tells me that there are files being used. I try to kill them, but same thing happens.

Is the card toast?

Try a soft reset before attempting the reformat. It may be a program is running in the background and has one or more files locked or do as Mike suggests and use a card reader on the PC to do the reformatting.

Well, I guess I will have to get a card reader because I don't have one. No big deal, but is there anything else I can do - softreset did not work.

I think you'll actually find the card reader a useful addition. It's much faster for transferring files than doing it through an ActiveSync connection.

In the meanwhile, you might try removing the card, doing a soft reset, then putting it back it. That may 'unlock' what ever file is causing the problems.
