Navigate button doesn't navigate
I have had my Axim a couple of months, I always use the touch screen and pen, so I didn't think about the buttons on the front, till I started reading the problems people were having,so I got my book out and it mentioned the arrow on the screen thats when it hit me that the buttons on the front don't work, I can't do a soft or hard reset, I have to take the battery out. I know it probably isn't a setting that isn't right. But before I get in touch with support thought I would try here. I bought it off of ebay and am not sure if I got it registered, there was a problem trying to register it on line. So I am not sure if they have me as the owner.

I’m sorry, but this is a rather confusing set of information you provided. You are associating the buttons on the front with a soft and hard reset. They have nothing to do with the soft reset (that’s the ‘dimple’ below the record button on the left side) and the hard reset is the power button at the top simultaneously with the same dimple on the side. Are you saying the power button doesn’t work either? And what ‘arrow on the screen’ are you talking about?
Your ‘subject’ referred to the navigate button. This is the larger, center button at the bottom. It has nothing to do with on/off or resets. If it is working properly, in various programs, it will allow you to scroll left, right, up, and down. An excel spread sheet is usually the easiest place to test it’s function. Pressing in on this is also supposed to be the equivalent of pressing the enter on a keyboard, but it will only work if you have installed the A02 or A03 ROM upgrade or the specific patch for the d-pad. As for the buttons across the bottom of the Axim, there is a setting which allows them to ‘turn on’ the Axim – check or uncheck the option at Settings, System, Power, Control. Also, under Settings, Personal, Buttons, you can change what the buttons do. Even if they are not set to turn on the Axim, when it is already on they should open the programs specified in these settings. I hope this helps clarify the situation for you. | ||||
