Against my better judgement, I loaned my wife my Axim so she could listed to the story of Mother Angelica during a Scout mall lock in.

When she returned, the battery was low so I turned the unit off, switched batteries and . . .

Nothing. Won't turn on. Won't come on automatically when a card is installed. Won't turn on with power - even though the orange charging light comes on.

Any strategy to troubleshoot? or should I hit eBay for another wife, sorry, Axim?

try moving the battery door switch, not only does it let you access the battery compartment but there is a switch that locks out the axim. If it is not switched all the way back the unit will not turn on.

Try doing a "fake hard reset". Hold the power button and the reset button simultatiously for a few seconds, then release both. If the unit turns on, just cancel the hard reset procedure. This did the trick for me several times in similar situations.

make sure you are using the main charger not a usb powered one when the battery goes flat
