SDIO software based?

I don get it, i found a site that says that Xscale proc's are able to to SDIO, but it lacks drivers(http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/20...0117018212.htm), so why would aren't they developing drivers for SDIO if Xscale proc's are able to do SDIO.

P.S. My personal saying is that Ne thing a Palm can do, my Axim can do 10 times better. :D :D :p

The jury is still out if the Axim could support SDIO. While XScale does, no one at Dell has said if the SD slot supports SDIO. I doubt we'll see anything with the X5 since it already has a IO CF port and SDIO cards have had some trouble with drivers on even devices that support SDIO.

MY understaning , which is far from complete, is that the hardware slot itself has to be an SDIO adapter. Rumor has it that the AXIM doesnt have the right adapter hardware for SDIO.
