usb sync charge cable

Hey anyone bought the usb charger sync cable from Eforcity on Ebay? I bought one and had problem with it not working. It sucked battery charge out of the Axim instead of charging it. I returned it 3 times just to have the same crap sent back to me. They won't give me money back, no support, no refund. This really pissed me off since I am out of the money, waited for the items and now I get one that doesn't work.
The cable charges and syncs the Dell off any usb computer - that is what they claimed but I ain't seen it working yet!!!!!
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't have the same cable as that one. Looked like I got canned with these scumbags. Stay away from Eforcity trading on Ebay you guys. They wouldn't give me a refund after 3 cables exchange even when I demanded it instead I got a lot of run around. I will have my credit card company dealing with them.
Thank you for the infor. though.

Yea, I know you don't have the same cable, but I believe that every USB Sync cable is going to have that problem.

I just talked to someone at Pocket PC Techs and they are holding back shipments of their usb sync cable. They said there is a manufacturing defect that regulates the power coming from the cable. The cable is only putting out 4.4 when it needs to put out the full 5+ that the usb port offers.

So for now, they mentioned that the cable could only reliably work if the charge was above 80% already. Other than that it was simply a USB cable not a USB/Charging cable. The person I talked to seemed to think that it was not completly an Axim issue, but one that can be fixed if the cable is manufactured properly.

I am glad their customer support was up front. I would order from them again.

Take all this for what its worth!

Thats interesting, I wonder why they think they can fix it while the others don't.

Not sure, although I was taken back by his honesty. I placed my order yesterday and had not gotten any confirmation. I called to check on the status and he informed me of the problems. They could have just sent it out! Rare you see that kind of customer service.

I wish I would have asked more questions. Although when he mentioned there were manufacturing issues, I did ask if it was an Axim issue. He did not confirm either way, but said they were trying to get new cables in to fix the issue. My guess is that if they can at least get the cables to not restrict the power in the cable, they could get better charge percentages.

If anyone from there reads these boards and wants to elaborate that would be great.

Well Gomadic offered to buy back any of their USB Sync charge cables that people didn't want because of the charge problems. Gomadic had the problem when the charge got below 40%....
