I also got the compaq driver to work, albeit not well. You have to remove all drivers, do a hard reset, then install the drivers for the compaq then install the card.

I was able to successfully install the Intersil driver with the Ambicom WF1100C card. Question? Can anyone tell me what the Wireless Radio On/Off is about?

Just what it says. When it's off, the card stops working and your connection to the network is closed. It should also reduce power usage (maybe to the level without the card installed although I've never tested it).
