Axim did a hard reset

I did a soft reset on my Axim to restart it today.

However, the Axim did a hard reset (for no known reason). I'm now stuck with the task of re-installing my apps and re-entering the settings.

Anyone know why it would do this? I'm sure it isn't supposed to do a hard reset as easily as this.
