BlueTake Bluetooth Install & IrDA Issues

Hopefully the following solution, which works for me, will resolve some issues with the installation of the BlueTake BT100S CF Bluetooth card and the conflict between the bluetooth drivers and the IrDA which stops the IrDA working.
If someone has found a different solution to the IrDA conflict I would be interested to hear.

BlueTake Bluetooth installation:

1. Insert BlueTake CF card into Axim X5 CF slot.
2. Install WIDCOMM Bluetooth drivers and manager from BlueTake CD (via ActiveSync).
3. Unplug BlueTake CF card.
4. Perform software reset of Axim X5.
5. Re-insert BlueTake CF card.

Note. Always ensure Bluetake CF card is unpugged prior to performing a software reset on the Axim X5.

Bluetooth - IrDA driver conflict:

During installation the WIDCOMM Bluetooth driver assigns COM2 as it's 'inbound COM Port' this causes the USB to be reassigned to COM3. This conflicts with the IrCOMM driver which is also assigned to COM3 and therefore cannot be activated.

The solution is to reassign the WIDCOMM inbound COM Port to COM7, this allows the USB to revert to COM2 and the IrCOMM can be correctly activated on COM3.

After successfully installing the BlueTake card use a registry editor to make the following changes to re-enable the IrDA.

1. With a registry editor rename the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial2
to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial7

2. for this key change the following values from 2 to 7
DeviceArrayIndex = 7 (changed from 2)
Index = 7 (changed from 2)

3. For the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\Servi ces\0001
change the following value from 2 to 7
ComPortNumber = 7

4. Perform a software reset - remember to unplug BlueTake card.
