Unable to re-sync after hard reset

I lost complete battery power and now have a 'fresh' unit. When I try to sync it tells me 'Could not connect to device' and starts the wizard. It defaults to the name 'Pocket_PC' and I click next. It then tells me the device name is already in use and I must enter another. How can I tell it this is the same unit that I originally set up for sync? Do I need to enter the name in the pocket_pc?
Any help would be much appreciated...
TIA

With your X5 disconnected open activesync and look for the mobile device name you used to use then when that comes up go to delete partnerships and delete it but save the files. Now reconnect and the activesync partnership wizard will let you use the old name again and the files from that partnership will be transfered over.

Which version of activesync are you using?

Now it defaults to 'Guest'

Hi Bobby,
Thanks for the quick reply. I was able to successfully delete the old partnership. And then I put the pocket pc back in the cradle. It first said again that it didn't recognize the device. When I tapped 'ok' it immediately defaulted to 'Guest'.
I can't see where I can create a new partnership...
I have version 3.7 of Activesync.

All Fixed with 4.1

Hi Bobby,
I checked and found that the latest version was 4.1. I downloaded and installed it and the wizard worked like a charm. I'm all restored!
Thanks again for the help,
Calpilot:)
