Backup Battery-Screen Connection?

Well, the ROM update didn't help my backup battery monitoring very much. The battery still appeared to "die" overnight. It could be that this was a cheap replacement backup battery. Thinking that the first one actually was dead, I tossed it out.

Not long after my ROM update, the screen began to exhibit an unusual "self-draw capability", where random scribbles would appear in the lower left quadrant of the screen. This was quite entertaining when I opened a new Note and watched it as if a two-year-old was trying to write.

Now it appears that my replacement backup battery is completely dead, and soft resets fail to make it appear magically recharged. Since the battery died, the screen anomalies have disappeared! The screen works great now, with no problems.

Has anybody else experienced any of these things?

Do you have a screen protector on your Axim? Sometimes they can cause this symptom .. You can try removing it and see if this stops ...

If not you might need to send it back to Dell to have it replaced ..

I remember reading users couldn't enter anything on the screen, caused by the protector pressing in a corner and causing a 'tap'.

Take the protection off and see what happens.... (at least, that's what my gf always says)

Follow-Up

I'm not using a screen protector. Mine is pretty much out-of-the-box, minus the s/w I've installed, of course.
