Start Menu Icon Troubles

okay...I did some searching before asking this but could not find anything in the 7 pages of results.....

In my Start Menu, some of the program icons have changed from a picture of the program to what now looks like a file folder (or something close to a file folder)....does anyone know how to get the picture of the program icon back? I don't have a lot in my Start Menu...just 5 programs. I had to do a soft reset and that's when I noticed the change.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated :)

THANKS!!

What items are you missing? If the programs are stored on a CF or SD card, that could be the source of your problem.

Hi Cheryl....actually, yes, these programs are on a storage card. But it's weird because up until today the icons for them in the Start Menu were fine. These are fairly new programs that I've had for about 2 weeks.
Seems after I had to do a soft reset today is when I lost the icons for them.
Not really that big of a deal, I suppose. But I just don't understand why all of the sudden they're gone. (?) I'm sure it has something to do with the soft reset but, that's just a guess.

:) THANKS!!

I suspect you have had , unknowlingly, this issue for a while and that the soft reset "fixed" some problems that, in their "corrupt" state relied on one another to keep your Ax going. Have you added any new applications lately? This is usually the best way to start tracking issues of this nature. I would suggest you to a complete backup, do a hard reset and then reload your applications.

Do the links still work? If you tap on the folders where the icons used to be?. I would check to make sure the shortcuts you put in the start menu are still valid.

I would assume that if the appys are on a storage card (SD or CF) that the card must be it's slot for any of the data (includes icons of the program on the Start menu) to show....correct?

If these are programs that you use frequently, I'd suggest you reinstall direct to the Ax's RAM.

As a side note, I install programs I use daily to the Ax's RAM, and programs I use less frequently, such as picture viewers and games, to either my SD cards or my CF cards.

SHDYTXMN...agreed, soft reset 'fixed' other problems but, the icons were working in (or relied on) the corrupt state.

CHERYL...yes, the folders for these programs in the start meun work fine...just a matter of the icon for the programs are gone. (not really a biggie, I suppose but I prefer to see the icon instead of a folder.

BEOWULF....took your advice and did a hard reset and, yes, I ended up placing these two programs in the Axim instead of a storage card...all is good. I have plenty of space in the AX for these programs so it wasn't too big of a deal to give up the space.

THANK YOU FOR THE REPLIES!!!! I appreciate it
:)
