I've messed around with the settings for hours, but I always get the message that there is no response on the other end. I have connected sucessfully to budgetdialup from my desktop, so the number is fine. Is there anyone who could help me beforeI return it? The little green light that indicates OH (Off Hook, I assume) only occasionly goes on while I try to connect. When it does go on, it only stays on for about three seconds, then I get the same error message. Help!!!!
Thanks, Willi
p.s.- I would like to paypal anyone who gets me connected five bucks, if that is allowed in these forums (I'm still only a newbie.)

Welcome to aximsite.com. Assuming you haven't done this yet. Go to Connections under System (on your Start page under Settings), set up a new connections naming it whatever you want, Select as a modem "Hayes Compatible on Com1:", hit Next, enter the dialup phone number exactly as it should be dialed "1-111-111-1111" as an example, hit Next, enter your user name and Password, doubt you'll need a Domain, click on Advanced, select baud rate of 57600, check "Wait for dial tone before dialing", if no credit card is to be used, enter "0" there, probably won't need to enter anything in the Dial string box, check in Cancel if not connected in 120 seconds. Go to the top and hit OK. Click on Finish,That should do it. Do a soft reset, put the CF modem in, connect the phone wire and then go to connections, put stylus on your (whatever you named it), hold for a second, it will give you a choice to Delete or Connect, click on Connect. I'm assuming again (neither of you said) that it is a 56K dialup modem. :approve:
