Axim SD card incompatible or SD card KILLER?

Hi all,

Posted this message already in the SD card troubles but I think this is turning in a seperate issue.

I've got 2 Sandisk 256MB cards as well...
Both lose data when in my Axim have formated with flashformat and storagetools. Of course no luck the Axim doesn't hold data for more than a couple of hours.

Sandisks are China (AR0302LR) and Taiwan (0212LR).
Ordered a Lexar stick that is manufactured in Japan because I read the Taiwan ones are cause troubles too.

Ok now comes the weird part. I have a Minolta F100 digicam as well that uses SD cards. Haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. But now after the cards have been in the Axim they don't seem to hold more than 18 pictures before a memory card error appears.

Turnes out that after the problems in the Axim began it's impossible to write across a15/16MB boundry on the cards.
Have formatted in the digicam as well as with storagetools and flash format. Tried fat16 as well as fat32 with all available cluster sizes. Same problem.

Have turned to Dell and Sandisk and have to go trough all the normal troubleshooting steps again:

'Have you tried formatting the card?'.

This was 3 days ago. In the mean time my Axim SD slot has stopped functioning all together!

Seems my Axim is a SD card killer!
Scary huh?

it's a pretty good question, probably not one that'll turn up a lot of agreement though...seems like toshibas and axims are having the most trouble with Sandisk SDs.

as for your slot, did you try a different SD card or is it just not working when you use the Sandisks?

Well... I have a toshiba card that came with my Digital Camera.

That one was only 16MB and worked without a problem on my Axim untill the SD slot totally stopped working.

Will get a Lexar (Japan) card this week but I don't think I'll put it in my Axim untill I had some feedback from Dell.
