My Axim has a little program called Switcher Bar that you turn on in setting.
I seems that it become non-functionable after you have done a wireless connection and ran Internet Explorer. You need to do a soft reset and then enable
the Switcher Bar again.
I have done the A12 update but not sure if the problem existed before.

Any Ideas.

check out either vbar or magic button - both are free and infinitely better than built in app
