I noticed that the Axim many times turns itself on. I checked the newsgoups and found that this is happening to other Axim users. One of the PPC Gurus mentioned to uncheck the "schedule" in Active Sync. I tried this but it still turns itself on. I sent a message to Dell support but in the mean time anyone else have this issue?

Yes, this has been discussed on this board. A lot of people have noticed this phenomenon. My theory (which was generally accepted) was that the Axim was turning on in supplication to Cthulu and the Elder Gods (including He Who Must Not Be Named). Dell would have released a patch by now, but it's programmers keep going insane. Quite a problem really.

just turn on the switcher bar and exit activesync...
u will have to OK the box that pops up
also u may want to turn off the feature to turn on the device when an application button is pressed

Worried

I also noticed this as well. On one occasion I blew into the CF card slot to blow out some dust and it turned on? Another time I put it on my night table got undressed for bed and I saw it flash on then off, this has happened twice so far. I think it has coincided with me moving the blankets or taking of my socks. I know sounds odd, but in the dark I can see static arcs when moving clothing around. I think it may be static related. Anybody else notice this?

It may not be related, but I thought I noticed this happening when in close proximity to my cell phone antenna.

The unit is supposed to come on whenever you insert or remove a memory card, or dock to the usb system.

It's because Active Sync hangs in memory. When you take your Axim out of it's cradle, Active Sync should shut down, but it doesn't. Just exit out the Active Sync (It will tell you it's not responding) and it won't turn on anymore. Otherwise it will turn on every 5 minutes trying to sync.

This seems to be a bug. Hopefully a patch or service pack will fix this in the future.
