Worried stuck on the 'align screen' - UPDATED 1/28

I did a hard reset to my Axim and as usual when it turned on it went to the welcome screen and then to the 'align screen.' I tapped the 4 corners, it blinked and wanted me to align the screen. It seems to be stuck on this screen. Even another hard reset did nothing to resolve the problem. Does anyone know how to bypass the screen?

UPDATE - 1/28

I have used the axim for quite a while (it's out of warranty). Every thing was fine with it. I have preformed a couple of hard resets in the past and successfully aligned the screen... but this time I did the same things I did in the past to no avail. I have tried to align the screen 40-50x - hard, firm, soft, fast, medium, slow -nothing has worked. Infact I read another person's advice about opening it and ensuring the buttons don't make contact with the serial cable and did that and that hasn't worked.

My idea was to bypass the screen alignment and when the OS started use the buttons to navigate to the screen alignmet and do it within the OS.

Any other ideas?

Welcome to Aximsite Ben

You don't want to bypass this screen, you need to set up the alignment accurately to get the best from the device. Often, getting the alignment right can be a bother for new users: press with reasonable (not too hard!) firmness (rather than tap) in the centre of the crosshairs and you should find that you progress to the next screen (this is how to cut and paste screen). This is not a test of speed, it is a matter of hitting the right spot.

Good luck :approve:

You should not tap the four corners, rather, the center of the crosshair in the middle of the screen. The crosshair will then move to four different spots. You must tap the center of it each time it moves. Do it slowly and be sure to get the middle. Hold the device as you would normally hold the device during normal use.
