Has anyone had any luck getting an Axim to function over the IrDA port with a Seiko SmartPad or InkLink. I bought the Axim because I need the handwriting recognition of the Pocket PC software (my wife now has my trusty Palm V).

If you do a search on all the forums you will see the problems that people have had with using the IR (beaming function) of the Axim. I have been one of those who has experienced IR problems and I have made several posts around the web about this problem. I wish I could help you, but I think the problem is a hardware issue with the Dell Axim. Please contact Dell and let them know of your problems. They need to hear from more people of the IR problems that are out there.

Also, you might want to contact Seiko. I recently read a really positive post about there tech. support in getting a PPC device to work with the SmartPad. The user who made the post was a former Palm user and wanted to get their PPC device to work with the SmartPad. Good luck.
