Bizarre behavior and a request How-2

Today for some strange reason my power button refused to power the machine down. Then none of the app buttons worked. I went to reset to default to no avail. I soft-reset. I did everything I could except hard-reset. I even uninstaklled some programs. Then the last soft-reset Hackmaster pops up and says there was a problem with instant speed change so it will disable it - well it locked up the machine. Then on the final soft-reset it declared that there was a memory error detected and it gave me the blessings of a hard-reset. Durn! It's been running dandy for weeks!
If anyone can enlighten me on the strange behavior I'd be happy. Nothing too strange as far as apps except Gigabar and Dashboard.
Now to the request - maybe I just haven't cracked the books far enough but how on earth can I get it to sync with my original device ID? Everytime I do something like this I have to start all over with another Device ID and the whole nine yards - this is silly if that's the way it has to be!!!

Regards, Jon

It could have been the overclocking software that caused the problem.
As for new device id, if you backed up, then sign in as a guest, restore, and you will have your old ID back. If not, then I believe you will have to create a new one, although I may be wrong.

By device ID do you mean the partnership? That's what it says in the ActiveSync window. To use the same partnership again you go File > Delete Partnership.

Yeah but it says the Device Name is already being used - and that is where all your stuff is stored under.
As far as the overclocker comment above - I've been running hackmaster for several months with no issues - it is a reliable piece of software.

Any more ideas?
