the "math" was based strictly on percentage points, which obviously aren't equivalent in terms of cycles depending on how far you discharge, but they are equivalent in terms of usage time.

Anyone know how many cycles the batts are good for when drained to 35% before recharge? that's roughly equivalent to my "15th percentile" of battery uses. (in other words 85% of cycles recharge at a level higher than 15%.)

80% is more like my 90th percentile....

Well thats nice, but most of us dont have the money to get a new handheld or battery in a year.;)

Also, i think 4 hours is not a long wait considering what "MAY" happen to your handheld.
I mean, why not? Plug it in the charger and use it while charging.
buying a new handheld does not justify waiting 4 hours.:D

new ppcs, now that theyre under $300, dont cost that much anyway if you keep your old one in good condition for resale.

Most of the time, I don't have the opportunity to [re]charge my axim before the batt gets down to 80%. That might change now that I have a PXA255, though.

btw what's the graphic in your sig?
