Cracked screen...

Last night I was at the movies and fell while walking up the stairs. I forgot that my Axim was in pocket and when I went to watch a small movie before the film started, I turned it on and the screen was ruined.

Is this something Dell will fix under warranty? If so are they going to fix mine or send a new one? Thanks for the help.

No they will not fix it under the normal warrenty... The only way Dell will deal with it is if you bought the EXTRA Accidental Damage Warrenty at an additional cost when you got your Axim.

So if you did not get this then you have 2 options basically.

You can go here and get the screen and replace it yourself. Not too hard. Others on the board have done it.

A similar thing happened to me, if you paid by credit card and its within a certain date of purchase then your card company might pay you insurence for accidental damage.

I had a big crack that went across a quarter of my screen. I was sure that i had purchased a battery for 299.00 since I couldn't figure out how to repair it. I found this thread oredered from gethightech and had it repaired in less than 5 days from when it broke. Who ever posted this link originally owns.
