Battery Problem All of A Sudden?

Boy, do I need advice. I am using a Seidido sync/charge cable and ALL OF A SUDDEN when I use it, instead of charging my battery, the charge appears to DECREASE!! Then I get a warning that my battery is dangerously low. But when I remove the cable, the power/battery graph goes back up!! This just started happening; it was fine for weeks (this cable), but now this has happened. Any advice? Thank you.

Sync/Charge cables for the Axim only work if the battery is pretty full charge already. If the battery gets below about 80%, I believe, the cables actually discharge the battery. That phenomenon is probably why Dell doesn't offer a sync/charger cable.

i think you are right; thanks

thanks. i believe you are probably right. i just check a battery tester on the battery and it reads 3.37. is this too low? maybe i need to spring for another dell cradle??? think that's the answer? thanks again for the note. strange how it goes backwards in charge with the sync cable? why does it do that?

Had me worried, I've come in to work this morning (been away for a few days) and I get exactly that plug in usb charger and it decreases the power, unplug and up it goes again.
And I know that the thing was on about 50%, which is probably the lowest its been coming into work - you may well be right.
Thanks
Panic over!

low battery and usb/charge cable not a good marriage

my problem is fixed. once i put the unit in the cradle, it fixed itself. ...and i just bought an ac adapter from computergeeks.com made just for the dell, for only $7 so i won't let the battery get below 80% anymore. the usb/charging cable is defintely the problem with a low battery.

Yeah, I use a sync/charge combo cable... and I think it is a good thing, as I am a procrastinator. This way, I am more likely to charge my Axim every night, rather than wait until it really needs it.

Keeping the charge above 80% is very healthy for the life of a LI-ion battery.

I'm also far more likely to keep my Axim synced with my desktop, this way, too.
