PPC 2003, Backlight, and ActiveSync Problems

Not only have I been living in slow motion since I bought my Axim two weeks ago, but now the backlight won't come on when I turn the Axim on. I have to hold down the power button if I want to see what I am doing. And this morning, I can't hold a steady connection to ActiveSync. I never had this much trouble with my Ipaq. I am going to call Dell, see what they have to say, try and understand it, and then decide if I am going to the dark side and buy an HP... the thought makes me shudder, but their performance doesn't. PS.
