Warranty Replacement Unit Questions

I recently reported my Axim had a bad screen to Dell tech support... They are sending me a replacement...

I have a few questions:

Will I get a PXA255?
Will I get MM2003? I DON'T WANT IT!

Any one else get a warranty replacement that can answer these questions?

If your original unit was MM2003, then your replacement should be, but it probably won't be. Unless your unit is under 30 days old, you will get a refurb, so there is no telling if you will get the 250 or 255. I bought my younger brother a refurb, and it was 255, then I got a replacement refurb, and it was 250.

Got it today PXA255 w/ 2002 and Rom A02. Not even the latest rom... shame on you Dell!

What did your original unit have on it?

I actually haven't heard of anyone get an Axim shipped with A02. Problem is they put it in the box and it's sealed and ready to be sent. It's tough to unpack thousands of boxes just to upgrade the ROM. Best thing to do when you get any new machine is to check the manufacturer's website and download the latest BIOS/ROM for your machine. Also apply any service packs before you install programs.

You probably wouldn't get a WM2003 machine as a replacement at this time since they are not shipping any.
