Mad Axim - Ppc2003 - Crap

Got my Dell Axim X5 about 6 weeks ago and it came with the lovely PPC2003 OS, as we all know it does not work fully on the Axim X5 and needs a bug fix which Dell are working on.

Just received my Dell Bluetooth CF Card yesterday to allow me to hook up the Axim to my Orange T68i Phone for email and web and I cannot get it to work. Called Dell Techies after a few frustarted hours of trying to get to work and having to soft reset a few times only to be told:
" THE DELL BLUETOOTH CF CARD WILL NOT WORK ON THE DELL AXIM X5 WITH PPC2003 DUE TO A BUG WE ARE WORKING TO FIX"

Great

Where does that leave me now??

I will be giving them a couple fo weeks to sort themselves out then it is all going back and they can pay me compensation for the Dell TOM TOM cable I bought for my GPS unit as it will no longer be of use to me.

ANYONE ELSE HAVING AS MUCH FUN AS ME I WONDER????????

Frankly,

The entire WM2003 os is crap. I used a clever hack I found off of IRC to upgrade from A03 to A05 (No flames, please, Dell had already taken down the upgrade!) and I was suddenly, acutely glad I didn't pay for my new os. Fortunately, I had made a ROM backup (If anyone wants PPC2002 back, I can try to find a way to send it to you!) and was able to play games again. WM2003 was soooo slooooww....

and A05 supposed to be fast.

take your pirating elsewhere, anyone who legitamatly has A05 loves it.

Dell didn't take down the upgrade just so you know, you just have to look on their FTPs a bit harder.

Dude,

Wait a second. Think how it would be if you paid $30 for that and then found out it was crap. Huh. Anyway, there's a difference between downloading free material and finding an 11-offset hex code that lets you use it and trading ...

well, maybe there isn't. But I'm very glad I didn't buy WM2003. I'm definitely not using it now.

maybe the fact you hacked the upgrade caused problems, maybe its because it isnt designed to work with the AO <4 roms. Maybe dell uses a DIFFERENT ROM with some different code to go from AO <4 to A05.

....If you paid 30 dollars and found out it was crap, tough luck, it doesnt justify piracy.

If you pay 20,000 dollars for a car and find out its crap and go out and steal another car, it aint exactly legal.

Well, whomever you got the info from on IRC doesn't know how to do it. No wonder you think it is c***! LOL buy a clue and then buy the CD.
