ActiveSync Problem
Hi Folks,
First time on the forum. I bought an Axim 400 about 1 1/2 weeks ago, just before finding out about the PPC 2003 problem. The Axim came late last week, and I've just found time to get it set up. I haven't found it too slow (though I am upgrading from a Casio Cassiopeia E-110), but I've run into another problem.
I already have the Outlook 2002 version from Windows Office XP on my machine, so I only installed the ActiveSync 3.7. My problem is that I can't make (or sustain beyond a couple of seconds) a connection between the PC and the Axim. I keep getting a message that says that the connection couldn't be made because there is an incorrect version of the software to which the Axim is not compatible. I've tried installing/uninstalling/reinstalling, soft resets, hard resets, and downloading a new version of ActiveSync 3.7 from Microsoft. I'm now wondering if the problem is with the version of Outlook I'm running (MS Outlook 2002 -- 10.4219.4219 SP-2).
Has anyone heard about this problem, either with ActiveSync or with Outlook? I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks for your help.
